All hand forged cabinet, traditional blacksmiths techniques such as mortise and tenon joinery and riveting were used. The frame is 1 1/4” square legs tapered and then the holes were punched through. Each panel making up the doors are forged under the power hammer using hand made “fullering” dies this gives texture and width at the same time. Each panel is then heated to bend in half then unbent leaving a “crease”. The panels are then riveted together to make each door. The interior and top are 11 gauge blackened steel, that is sealed.

The idea for this piece comes from the west end of our property that is heavily wooded. Looking at the doors is the same view as looking directly at the woods.
