Expertly designed and hand crafted using traditional blacksmiths techniques. All the joinery is mortis and tenon or riveted together. The legs are forged from 1” square and the hols are punched through. The inside box is made from 11 gauge steel and has 1/4” holes to accommodate adjustable shelves. To hide the holes there is an additional textured wall is riveted to the inside box. This is work on surface texture with all the different sized panels riveted together. The center piece is painted International Harvester Red and distressed. The color represents a strong connection between blacksmiths and agriculture.

This idea is from looking at the landscape around my studio in the “driftless area” of southwest WI. The layers of rocks are different colors and can reveal different time periods in this unique area.
