The frame of this cabinet is completely hand forged using mortise and tenon joinery and riveting. The legs are tapered from 1 1/4” square and the holes are punched through. The front of the cabinet is made up of several pieces of 3 1/2” x 1/4” thick metal that has been textured using custom made dies under the power hammer, this also gives length at the same time. The pieces are then shaped hot, arranged and then riveted to the hinges.

The idea for the design of the door front comes from the long grass that blows in the wind behind my studio in what is called an oak savanna.
